History and Future Involvement
The Nyambogo Sanitation Project aims to provide sustainable solutions to hand washing and latrine needs at Nyambogo and Dagopa Primary Schools. In August 2018, galvanized iron hand washing stations serving up to 10 students at a time were implemented at both primary schools. In August 2019, mobile latrines were constructed in the Nyambogo Primary School. The focus of the project was to design a latrine that was lightweight enough to be moved and reused after each pit filled up. The latrines were built with corrugated sheet metal siding and roof supported by a PVC frame. These materials are locally accessible and affordable enough to be used for replication by the community.
